Casablanca Restaurant

reviews 1 ratings 3 average 4
For about thirty dollars, including tax and tip, you get a very tasty 6 course Moroccan meal, and a belly dancing floor show. Their lamb course leaves something to be desired, but the rabbit course is worth the price of the meal all by itself. This is a great restaurant, but be sure to bring your appetite, and to schedule enough time for the meal.

Casablanca's 6 course dinner starts with an extremely pleasing platter of babaganoush, cucumber salsa, marinated vegetables and hummus. You get as much pita bread as you want throughout the meal and it's hard not to fill up prematurely. After the platter, you receive a flaky pastry with chicken, cinnamon and nut stuffing. It is sweet and oh so delicious. You also get to choose 2 entrees out of something like 8 or 9. The lamb with honey almonds and the rabbit are both very nice. I have tried the others and none are bad. After the entrees you get some palate cleansing cous cous and finish up with some great tea, slightly soggy baklava, and fresh fruit.

I can eat quite a lot when I try, and I always end up fulll before the cous cous arrives. The food is delicious, but could be better. The service and atmosphere are really wonderful though. You feel very relaxed on the couches and eating with your hands for the whole meal is a lot of fun. The belly dancing is fun too. Some performers are better than others, but it certainly never detracts from the meal. You can find coupons to bring the price down a little, it's still a decent value otherwise. The also have some interesting (and good) wines.
