The market is great, but quite pricy. I buy stuff like cheeses and roasted peppers here, but don't think the 10 dollar sandwiches are worth dining here for.

Most helpful staff! They know everything about olives, cheese, meats, etc. If you are hosting a party and need recommendations, it's the place to go. You can sample anything, just ask.

You ever been to Zabar's on the upper west side? It's like a smaller, cleaner version of that. The kind of place where yuppies can mingle amongst their own kind.

went there to get some cheese. the guys working the cheese counter were incredibly friendly and helpful. we tried a few different cheeses and ended up with two delicious cheeses including a brie and one other that i don't know the name of. It cost me MUCH less than it would have at a normal supermarket and the quality and service was far superior. Also got a french baguette and got it sliced, two rolls for $3.
