Go for the appitizers, especially the fresh made guacamole. In fact, make a meal of just apps. Drinks are good, but pricey, as you'd expect.

Great Southwestern type of fair. Terrific (but pricey) fish tacos. LOVE the pitchers of margaritas! Muy Bueno.

Appetizer dinner is the way to go - share with friends and get drinks somewhere else, or else you'll go broke.
Cinqo de Maio specials are worth the crowd (tables outside!!)

Now, I have only had take-out so I can not comment on the "experience" f dining at El Vez - but the food and especially the guacamole was very good. as other reviewers say - very high prices for basic Mexican fare. I guess you are paying for the Stephen Starr name.

Pricy and trendy, but quality food and drinks. Typical Steven Star.

A little out of my price range for frequent visits, but for special occasions it's terrific.
