Earth Bread and Brewery
Warm, bustling atmosphere, great flatbread pizzas and delicious beer. The service was lacking in efficiency, but I blame the disorganization on the fact that this restaurant is newly opened and hope for future improvement, since I think the place is great.
Las Bugambilias
This restaurant serves delicious food and has very good service and a pleasant atmosphere.
Azul Cantina
Cozy restaurant with friendly service and a creative menu. Delicious Margaritas and decent food; a nice edition to the neighborhood.
Vetri
Everything about this place is excellent.
Tiffin Indian Cuisine
This is the best Indian food I've had in the city in a long time. Great atmosphere, great service, great prices and delicious food.
Chabaa Thai
Best Thai food in the city.
Cafe Centraal
I've eaten here twice and I'm not impressed. My food was mediocre the first time and terrible the second time.
Good Dog
Best burger in the city.
Eulogy Belgian Tavern
The food and beer is excellent. Our service was absurdly slow.
Lafourno Trattoria Ristorante
I totally agree with friedman. The food was good, but the service was impeccable, the atmospehere is warm and the place is spotless. The menu is quite large, so I suspect there are some gems on it.
Mama Palma
Well, philaguerilla, you are confused because Mama Palma's sells beer, but alllows you to bring your own wine. You're not crazy after all.
The Village Coffee House
Nice atmosphere.
Fergie's Pub
The food here is consistently bad. It's a decent bar to grab a beer in, though.
North by Northwest
Great space, good music venue, decent food for reasonable prices. Ample seating for shows and plenty of room for dancing if you're in the mood.
Pico de Gallo
This is BYOB; what are you talking about pajjakid?
Ray's Cafe & Tea House
Best coffee in the city.
Gibo's
Best sandwich of my life.
The Olive Garden
The only thing worse than an Olive Garden is an Olive Garden in Center City Phildelphia.
Vietnam Restaurant
Great service. Nice atmosphere.
Cafe Apamate
I was really excited to check this place out, but I was disappointed. The atmosphere is pleasant and the presentation was nice, but the wait for the food was long (though we were probably the first customers of the day). The portions were small and the food was underwhelming. I felt the cost was high for what we were given. The menu has some interesting / unique looking items that we didn't try, so I might be willing to give it another shot. Tapas in the evening, which could be delicious. The salad that came with my meal was really tasty, though.
New Deck Tavern
Even the salad is greasy here.
Lombardi's
Best calzone in the city. Too bad this restaurant closed over a year ago.
Le Castagne
While you really can't go wrong with any of the food here, I recommend having at least a bite of pasta. The gnocchi is delicious.
Szechuan Tasty House
Solid Chinese food; quick delivery; happiest and friendliest delivery man on the planet. I'm a firm believer that a restaurant with the word "tasty" in it's name has got to be good.
Rangoon
Only Burmese lunch for under $10 in the city.
Cafe Lutecia
Great coffee, fresh ingredients, good people.
More Than Just Ice Cream
Great ice cream. I've never eaten anything else there, though. A small sized cone or cup is huge.
Fitzwater Cafe
Good brunch. Short wait for a table. Also a bakery.
Karma
Good food. A little pricey.
Morning Glory Diner
Good biscuits.
Kilimandjaro
One of the best meals I've ever had.
Lemon Grass Thai Restaurant
Great lunch deal. Very efficient service and good food.
Jones Restaurant
Shag rug.
The Latest Dish
Good food, but pricey for what it is. Very trendy. Good bar.
Fez Moroccan Restaurant
Belly dancers!
Cafe Spice
Nice atmospehere, good sized portions and decent food. But, there's better Indian food out there, though none as hip. If MTV's Real World cast wanted Indian food, they'd eat here.
Mama Palma
Polenta bread (pizza crust topped with polenta, corn, garlic, roasted peppers and I think some parm. cheese) is delicious.
Carmen's Country Kitchen
It should read: "Carman's Country Kitchen"
Slogan: "Carman puts the 'cunt' back in 'country.'"
Slogan: "Carman puts the 'cunt' back in 'country.'"
Salsolito Cafe Incorporated
Also called "The Joint."
Gia Pronto
Great coffee.
The Pink Rose Pastry Shop
Decent desserts. Terrible service.
Dwights Southern Bar B Que
Worth the Wait.
Sabrina's Cafe
Good brunch. Call ahead on the weekend to put your name on the waiting list (they do not take reservations).
